Laptops

Today the choices available for laptop buyers are incredibly varied. You will want to consider several factors, including the power of the computer itself, but here are a few important choices to note:

WEIGHT – anyone who travels knows just how heavy a laptop can get! Consider this if your laptop will be mobile.
Power – Travel to Europe often? It’s always good to choose a laptop that has a power supply that accommodates both 110v and 220v – you will have the best of both worlds.
SCREEN SIZE – Everyone loves a large screen, but remember, size and weight. Also check the viewing angle – with a wide viewing angle the picture is still good as you move left or right.
PORTS – The more ports (places to plug in devices) the better. Important ones include USB , External video (monitors and TVs), E-Sata (for fast external Hard Drives), Ethernet Ports (gigabit is best), Modem Port (phone line stuff) and Chip slots (particularly for digital camera chips)
KEYBOARD – beware of keyboards that are non standard or have no numeric keypad – make sure you are comfortable with whatever you choose. Back-lit keyboards are a great choice because they are easy to see in dim light.
